Hmmmm….What?!? That’s right, I tried Freekeh and it is one of my new favorite grains! You may be wondering what Freekeh is. Freekeh is an ancient roasted grain that has an awesome nutty, chewy texture. What’s more, Freekeh has up to 3 times the amount of fiber and protein as brown rice and is naturally low in sodium and it’s vegan! Not to mention that it is certified organic, Non GMO, and grown in the USA.
So what do you do with Freekeh? So far I have used it in my chicken stir fry and made a Mexican salad with it. Yum! It would also be great in soups, pilafs, salads, chilis, stews etc…The possibilities are endless!
